A brand new signing for 2018 to the Heavy Traffic Recordings label, we’re very pleased to be welcoming London’s Drumterror to the label, aided by the astounding vocal abilities of Newcastle-upon-Tyne’s Zico MC, with their debut release ‘Ebb & Flow’.
Marking our 8th digital release on the imprint, and the first non-US artists on the label, ‘Ebb & Flow’ is a sub-focused dub lick at 140 beats per minute, with Mad Professor-engineered drums, a bouncing bassline and raw guitar riffing by Drumterror himself driving the track throughout, with the addition of Zico’s vocal turning the track into a weapon bound to duppy any soundsystem set.
Drumterror is better known as one half of the Six Sunsets duo with counterpart Ekula, and as a pair they have seen releases through the likes of Banana Stand Sound, FatKidOnFire, Sure State and more, alongside touring across the UK, USA and Europe. Premiering his solo alias in March of this year, Drumterror has already seen support from the likes of Mala, Reso, Joe Nice and more - with this being only his first release under the moniker, there’s bound to be plenty more fire to come.
Zico MC has been active in the scene for going on 8 years now, maintaining his status as arguably one of the best MCs in the North-East of England. With recent features on releases by the likes of Dreadsquad and Soom T, Zico has MC’d around Europe for an endless list of names, the likes of which include Kahn & Neek, Commodo, Zed Bias and more. With no signs of slowing, he remains a constant figure to be watching.
